Redefining Recruitment with LifeWork

Imagine putting in hours creating the ideal CV, searching job boards, and submitting numerous applications, only to receive no responses—this could be for both job providers and job seekers. A convergence of technologies and situations has enabled a dystopian job market, where millions of candidates are fighting for an unknown pool of jobs, and employers are struggling to weed out truth from fiction, leaving well qualified candidates on the bench while giving a chance to applicants that happened to use the right AI tool to fabricate

Conventional approaches—from overly complex Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to the deluge of AI-generated resumes—frequently fall short, leading to a dysfunctional system where quality applicants are passed over and authenticity is lost. Speed and accuracy are given up for volume in this environment, which results in high employee turnover and discontent.

LifeWork is a cutting-edge platform that seeks to reinvent the skills building and recruitment process. LifeWork, a new venture founded by Jay Runner, focuses on genuine matches that save time, money, and effort for both employers and job seekers.

Business Now got in touch with Jay, who emphasized, “There are millions of people that want to work, are qualified, and willing to do what it takes to be part of the workforce again. We started LifeWork to help every user better understand their options, trajectory, and history. A consolidated vision of every user’s past, present and future.”

LifeWork is a platform that aims to identify the real person behind a profile and build relationships based on future growth and potential rather than excessively ‘padded’ resumes and keyword hacks. It is not just another AI tool trying to sell a piece of fiction, but rather an anti-social platform the selfishly dives into an individual to uncover each user’s truth, purpose and passion.

Rohith Soundarajan, Data Scientist at LifeWork, added, “LifeWork is about more than just matching skills to roles, it’s about understanding the whole person behind the resume. We’re building a platform that empowers people to showcase their true capabilities and help recruiters discover the right talent. In today’s broken job market, we want to give power back to job seekers, helping them in their career search by making it simple and helpful. It’s inspiring to be part of a team that’s reshaping the hiring process, making it more personal, fair, and impactful for everyone involved.”

LifeWork is unique because it can produce high-quality matches for businesses in a timely and accurate manner. Rather than just words on a page, the platform helps validate skills, education, experience and performance in a variety of scenarios. By having a validated profile, the skills and competencies listed have a higher chance of being a direct match and put the burden of proof on a candidate. Those that can walk the walk excel, and those that can only talk the talk are provided with resources to help make success–instead of fake success.

Businesses are able to find the best candidates more quickly and accurately as a result of eliminating the inefficiencies associated with manually screening applications.

“We don’t have a career map that works for everyone—so we decided to create a system that allows each individual to map their own. Our platform acts as the GPS for your career, helping people discover their true path, regardless of their background or experience, and setting waypoints and triggers that help keep you on track.” Jay continues…

Businesses looking to engage an actively managed marketplace of highly skilled candidates can begin with a basic job description and then use LifeWork’s platform to refine applicants based on how well their profiles match company requirements. Finding the right skills isn’t the only thing at stake; hiring manager personalities and the company culture must also mesh well, with relationships being based on long-term success rather than short-term fixes.

This creative method allows businesses to spend more time on onboarding and training and less time on manual tracking and screening. In a traditional recruitment model, companies typically charge a commission of about 20% of a first-year salary, which covers preparation, coaching, and some onboarding. LifeWork’s model not only reduces those expenses by half but also saves countless hours by providing a pool of qualified, screened candidates in a matter of minutes.

“With AI often generating the job description, resume, and looking for the overlap, the need has never been greater than to break down the barriers,” says Steve VanWieren, Chief Data Officer at LifeWork. “The approach offers a great benefit to both the candidate and the recruiters.”

The commitment to trust and authenticity at LifeWork extends beyond skill matching. In the wake of significant corporate restructuring, when high-performing employees are frequently the victims of shareholder-driven decisions, it fights the stigma associated with layoffs. LifeWork turns the labor market into a situation where companies and job seekers benefit equally by generating a pool of highly skilled, immediately available talent.

Additionally, LifeWork is dedicated to helping marginalized groups, especially veterans. Jay Runner expressed his vision by saying: “There are over 40,000 veteran service organizations (VSOs) designated to serving veterans and service members. That sounds great, but if you researched five of them every day, it would take you over 20 years to get through them all. LifeWork’s platform matches them with opportunities that best fit their unique needs with the purpose of facilitating veterans’ smooth transition into civilian employment while also matching them with ideal opportunities to connect with VSOs and benefits that are a perfect match.”

LifeWork provides the much-needed solution in a job market that is becoming more and more complex. In addition to providing job seekers with the chance to create fulfilling, long-lasting careers, the platform helps businesses find the ideal candidates quickly by bridging the gap between efficiency and authenticity.

Jay’s mission for LifeWork is clear: “We’re here to help people take control of their career journey, with a focus on long-term growth and true potential. We should not use the term work-life balance anymore. We became Lifework to emphasize the fact that life comes first, and work should fit in to a life, not the other way around.”

Moreover he says, “Aligning with their mission to help support military and their families, Lifework is planning to launch their closed beta on Veterans Day, November 11th 2024.”

  • This platform is the future, available for market in days and able to ramp up immediately for business and individual use. As a retired veteran I see the application not only affecting the veteran's ability to be aligned with businesses that are veteran friendly, but tackles side issues like suicide, divorce, the fog of transition from active service to civilian employment and the mental anguish associated with these possibilities that will reduce the current alarming and devastating rates.
