MCU: ‘Money making’ Cinematic Universe

We all have heard about Marvel or Marvel Cinematic Universe. I am sure, if not all, most of you would have watched at least one movie of it.

But have you ever thought how this big franchise is making so much money just from one movie?

To put it under calculation the worldwide calculation of movie Avengers: End game in 2019 was $2.503 billion, which was half of South Sudan’s GDP, which was $4 billion.

Rather than just from movies, Marvel, now a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, generates revenue from multiple sources. Here is the list:

1. Movies and Television: Revenue received at the box office by Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, DVD/Blu-ray sales, and streaming licences.

2. Merchandising: Sales of consumer goods such as apparel, accessories, toys, and other items under brands.

3. Comic Books: Sales of physical and digital comic books

4. Licensing: Agreements for the production of Marvel-branded goods through licensing with other businesses.

5. Theme Parks: Disney theme park attractions and experiences.

6. Video Games: Sales and licensing of video games featuring Marvel characters

7. Publishing:
Profits from comic books and books.

8. Advertising and Sponsorship: Agreements and collaborations for product placement and marketing in their motion pictures and television programs.

Marvel’s overall profitability and brand strength are bolstered by these diverse revenue streams.
