Largest Aircraft Makers in 2024

As the aerospace sector keeps honing its craft, a few businesses and one nation emerge as leaders in the field.

The world’s top 20 publicly traded aerospace companies by market capitalization as of March 2024 are displayed below in the list. Note that private companies are not included in the data used in this ranking.

Airbus and Honeywell: two giants stand above the rest in 2024.

Airbus is the biggest aircraft manufacturer in the world, with a market capitalization of $136,5 billion. Established in 1970, this company holds the legal head office in the Netherlands, but its operational headquarters are in France. It is a major player in the production of both military and commercial aircraft.

Founded in 1906, Honeywell International is headquartered in the U. s. has a market valuation of $130 billion, placing it in second place. With its main office located in North Carolina, the company is heavily involved in industrial and aerospace systems.

Six of the top ten aerospace companies are American-based, demonstrating the country’s continued dominance in the industry.

Aside from Honeywell, other significant American firms with a strong presence in the rankings include Boeing, Raytheon Technologies, and Lockheed Martin.

Together, these companies have contributed hundreds of billions of dollars to the global market, solidifying the US’s position as a leader in both commercial aviation and defense.

Other countries are becoming aerospace superpowers, outside of the US and Europe.

Hindustan Aeronautics and Bharat Electronics are two major companies based in India, the nation with the largest population in the world today. Their market capitalization as a group is $451.8 billion.

Norway’s Kongsberg Gruppen, which was established in 1814 and is ranked 16th on the list with a valuation of $114.4 billion, is another example.

Among the top 20 are companies from Sweden, Israel, South Korea, Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. The diversity of nations emphasizes the current aerospace industry’s global reach.
