In Dubai’s Sustainable City, three robots will begin delivering food and other goods to people’s homes from stores, starting in August.
This is a test conducted in association with Lyve Global and Dubai Future Labs.
The pilot program seeks to improve delivery efficiency, speed, and environmental friendliness.
According to Khalifa Al Qama, director of Dubai Future Labs at Dubai Future Foundation, these robots are built to guarantee product delivery in less than thirty minutes.
He continued, “They will find charging stations when needed and navigate sidewalks safely and independently, doing away with the need for human intervention. The introduction of these delivery robots aligns perfectly with the objectives set forth by the Dubai Robotics and Automation Programme.”
In September 2022, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, as well as the Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation’s Board of Trustees, officially launched the program.
Here are some features of food delivery robots:
1. Robots charges wirelessly
2. It has 360-degree field of vision, which helps avoid obstacles
3. The delivery robots keeps food hot or cold
4. It has real-time map for tracking orders
5. It delivers to your door-step
